Leonardo Bonucci reveals that winning the Champions League has always been his dream since joining Juventus, which has not yet been achieved.
Apart from a strange season with AC Milan in 2017/2018, Bonucci has been defending the Old Lady since the summer of 2010 ago. He participated in winning eight of the nine Scudetto titles that came to Turin between 2012 and 2020.
The Italy centre-back has also played in the Champions League final on two occasions under the Bianconeri banner, but both ended in disappointment as Juventus lost to Barcelona in 2015 and Real Madrid two years later.
Now in 35 years old, there is little time left for Leonardo Bonucci to realize his dream, with his contract only valid until the summer of 2024.
“When I joined, my dream was to have a great career and win everything,” said the defender, who led the Italian national team to the European Championship in the summer of 2021.
“I almost got it. I was 90 percent there. I only lost that one small piece, which hurt the Juve fans.”

Juventus will return to compete in Europe’s elite club competition this season. Although no longer a favorite like a few years ago, Bonucci still holds that hope.
“Let’s hope that in the remaining two years of my contract, we can find stability in Europe again. Winning is always difficult. The first step is to reach the quarter-finals, the rest you need luck,” continued Bonucci.
In such a unique season, anything can happen. So why don’t we put our trust in Juve’s future in Europe?
It is fitting that Bonucci is targeting the quarter-finals this season, because in the last three seasons in the Champions League, the Old Lady have always been eliminated in the round of 16.
