Napoli have reportedly approached German club Eintracht Frankfurt to show interest in their goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.
The German goalkeeper turned 32 this month and is still under contract with Frankfurt until the summer of 2024. However, he could move on to enjoy another experience towards the end of his career.
Sky Sport Germany said that Napoli had approached Eintracht Frankfurt to get Kevin Trapp’s services. They wanted him to be an alternative to Alex Meret.
Trapp already has six caps with the senior German national team and spent almost his entire career in the Bundesliga. He played for three years for Paris Saint-Germain between 2015 and 2018.
Frankfurt won the Europa League last season, which is the only title Trapp has won since joining the club nicknamed Die Adler.
Meanwhile, Napoli do need a new goalkeeper because they have just released David Ospina, whose contract was not extended until 30 June.
The Partenopei have used the services of the Colombian national team goalkeeper, despite having Meret in the squad, but the two of them always share playing time.
Likewise this season, coach Luciano Spalletti does not want to rely on Meret alone for a position in goal, because the Italian national team goalkeeper is considered inconsistent even though he still has great potential.
