When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attend the National Service of Thanksgiving in St. Paul Cathedral, London, to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, what are we most looking forward to? Of course, Meghan Markle’s fashion moment!
Returning to royal life after stepping down from royal duties in 2020, the choice of dress for Prince Harry’s wife on the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign became the center of attention. Still with the awesome look, this time Meghan Markle wears Dior, from head to toe.
Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2022 by Maria Grazia Chiuri was Meghan’s choice to appear before the British public. What she wears, from top to bottom is Dior. Knee-length coat with belt worn with organza top and silk skirt. All appear in gray beige (looks almost like white), in harmony with accessories that are also from Dior: gloves, heels, and a wide hat designed by Stephen Jones.
Although it almost unseen in the photos circulating on the internet, it is reported that the Suits star also carried a Lady Dior bag.
Why Dior?
Meghan Markle‘s style is indeed not to be doubted and questioned again. But at least we need to know why she chose Dior in his first appearance after retiring as a full-time royal.
Reported from various sources, those who are no longer bound by royal duties have freedom of expression. One of them, do not have to wear British designer clothes. So, why Dior? To follow the footsteps of Lady Diana.
After her divorce, Princess Diana was seen wearing Dior designs a lot. Including the bag that the French Prime Minister’s wife gave him. the name Lady Dior was given as a tribute to Lady Diana as she carried the Dior bag as her favorite accessory. Wearing Dior as a “comeback outfit” for Meghan is indeed quite a statement.
From 2000s
Meghan’s style in neutral colors from the Dior Haute Couture collection indicates a simplicity. Simple but luxurious. Basically the haute couture collection is full of luxury and the highest handmade art. Luxury is not always extravagant.
The simple look comes from minimal accents, sleek and classic. Gives the impression of modern elegance and luxury. And we have to admit, Meghan Markle is an expert in that category.
